Blum Center Director Richard Matthew is a co-author on a recent article in the Annals of the American Association of Geographers.

The article, titled “Species on the Move: Environmental Change, Displacement and Conservation,” characterizes the growing challenge of forced displacement and conservation, and outlines how responses could foster socioecologically just outcomes.

Environmental stresses and the resulting displacement could impact humans and the environment in several ways, including damaging ecosystems, triggering conflicts and exacerbating inequalities.
