In his recent edited volume, the Routledge Handbook on Environmental Security, Blum Center Director Richard Matthew wrote a chapter on why it is critical to integrate climate change resilience strategies into post-conflict peacebuilding processes.

The chapter, titled “Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Peacebuilding,” discusses six links between climate change and the conflict cycle. Professor Matthew identifies potential starting points for building climate change adaptation and resilience into the peacebuilding process and examines potential obstacles that can make this difficult.

The abstract and full chapter are available online here.
