The Environmental Peacebuilding Association® (EnPAx™) and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) are delighted to announce that the Second International Conference on Environmental Peacebuilding will be held virtually on February 1-4, 2022, convened in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, the Geneva Water Hub, the Geneva Environment Network, and the PeaceNexus Foundation.

After carefully monitoring the evolution of COVID-19, including the Omicron variant and various travel restrictions, the Conference Organizing Committee decided to hold the conference virtually.

The conference consists of the following thematic tracks

  1. Climate change
  2. Rights and justice
  3. Public health
  4. Business and markets, and
  5. Building the evidence base.

Throughout the four days there will be plenary sessions, an awards ceremony, breakout sessions, networking events, and training courses. The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, decision-makers, and others to examine diverse dimensions of environmental peacebuilding. The agenda includes 5 training sessions and 78 panels and roundtables, with 330+ experts from 60+ countries. In addition to traditional panels and a poster session, the conference is highlighting a diversity of tools and approaches, with a photographic exhibition, networking events, a screening of a film, a resume review workshop, and other dynamic sessions

Panelists include Richard Matthew, Blum Center Faculty Director, and Zayda Sorrell-Medina, Blum-affiliated graduate student.
