This conference will focus on the importance of imagining, constructing, and preserving communities—locally, nationally, internationally—capable of long-term sustainability on both the economical and environmental levels. Given that we are now over two decades into the 21st Century defined by a variety of ecological, militarist, political, and public health calamities, it is more vital than ever that we prioritize peace-based endeavors which seek to create societies rooted in enduring nonviolence.

Panelists include Bemmy Maharramli, Blum researcher and Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives for UCLA’s Center for Community Learning.
