Flood research conducted by Blum Center researchers was featured on the cover of UCI Magazine‘s Winter edition. The feature, “Flood Watchers”, discusses the shift from drought to severe flooding, the role of climate change in recent and future storms, and the renewed interests locally and in the state capitol on managing and preparing for future floods. The article highlights the role that a recent Blum Center publication had in sparking wide interest in the concerning racial and economic patterns of flood risk, and the new mapping tool developed by Blum researchers that improves understanding of who exactly will experience the impacts of flooding and how.
